Here’s a couple of dish cloths I’ve had on my needles.
I finished a couple for a friend and made three others for another gal and totally neglected to take any pictures. Which doesn’t even matter, except for posting here. But I don’t think it’s going to be life-changing for anyone. Ha!
This book!
This is one of my B&H/Lifeway books to review. {full disclosure here}
Robby Gallaty is a new name to me. This is the first of his books I’ve read.
Here’s a concept about the fruit of the spirits that I really liked from this book.
Robby divides the fruits into three categories.
Love, Joy, Peace = Habits of the Mind
Patience, Kindness, Goodness = Virtuous Deeds Expressed to Others
Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control = the General Conduct of the Believer
I really liked these three categories. Robby then gives a paragraph to intentionally speak a little deeper about each of the fruits we want to bear in our lives.
I loved these sentences from the end of the chapter about the fruit of the Spirit.
“Abiding in Christ is a slow-moving process. But don’t be discouraged. The slowest-growing trees sometimes bear the sweetest fruit.”
This book isn’t very big or thick, but I enjoyed it and the thoughts and motivations it stirred up in my life.
Chapter 6 contains a couple of pages on Patient Endurance and they resonated with my heart since steadfastness has been one of my focuses this year. Dealing with pain over the last several years with my back, sciatic and foot has also taught me about patient endurance.
Right on the heels of this passage are a few paragraphs on Joyful Gratitude and I loved this inspiration as well.
Each of the chapters focus on fruit.
A few of the chapter titles ~
1. How Fruit Grows: The Absolute Necessity of Abiding in Christ
5. The Fruit of Righteousness: You Only Grow in What You Know
6. The Fruit of Good Works: Your Work Done God’s Way For His Glory
8. The Fruit of Praise: Unending Worship
The book also has a five-day Bible reading plan that will take a year, laid out in the back of it if you like to implement tools and study helps such as this.
Here are the books I’ve been finding myself opening recently.
This devotional ~ A Moment to Breathe
Instant Influence……….I need to finish it and get it returned to the library. It’s been an interesting read. A lot of take aways for motivating myself!
Bearing Fruit
My Bible
The Quest Bible Study
Breaking Free Bible Study……I did this study several years ago and then earlier this year Renae and I started working through it again. We laid it aside for the summer and have picked it back up this fall.
A little handlettering and pondering these verses and my words……….always sobering to me!
A KID PICK!
This is a fun children’s dvd……….Punchinello and the Most Marvelous Gift. I love Punchinello!
I’m ready to start getting out my Christmas decor. I typically get it out right after Thanksgiving. This year I want to go ahead and slowly work at it. The time change and long evenings are making me think cozy and Christmastime!
This is in my basement and I can’t take very good pics down there. I put brown Kraft paper over the board and added these beautiful cards from GraceLaced.
It’s a beginning! I want to add some greenery or something…………undecided as of now! 🙂 I may clip some of my boxwood branches.
You’ll find the GraceLaced Christmas Shop by clicking over here.
Oh, and we have giveaways for children’s books going on right here and over here! They both end this weekend.
