Ah! These beautiful Kansas landscapes.
I just like them.
The clouds were so gorgeous on this Tuesday, day, as I ventured out for a walk.
Farmy, machinery, type stuff happening at the farm.
Time to get Mr. Combine out and start maintenancing and prepping for upcoming wheat harvest.
That means a musical chairs of machinery must move in and out of the shed.
Getting one piece out never means moving one piece.
At least on our farm.
Our shed is older and long and narrow and whatever is in front must come out for whatever is tucked into the back to come out, too!
I had windows flung open wide and listened happily to the noise of my farmer man’s machinery engines as he worked around.
Happy Mail!!! Happy, happy mail. This wonderfully fun and thoughtful package in the mail made my day times 1000. Glorious gratitude for friends with caring hearts.
The June Flexi!! CUTE!! Hop over here to Lilla Rose to “catch” yours!
A bright spot in my kitchen making me happy! We brought home the saltwater taffy from Hatteras. I’m still reveling in the great time we had on our trip and the memories and getting to spend time together, our little family, and also spend a week with my sister and her family. Go over here and look at the beautiful pictures she has posted from Hatteras. I’m hoping to soon start posting some of mine. I’ve browsed through them a few times and love re-living it.
Garage sale preparations! My sister-in-law had a garage sale and we helped out and took a few things to sell/get-rid-of.
Tape stack sculpture by my in-house-Lego-guy.
Three things belonging to my twelve-year old son that just mark this stage in his/our life/lives. His sister has been in Ohio visiting grandparents and we’ve had just him.
He’s been into Chess. He got it for Christmas this past year.
The harmonica turned up when he did a room re-arrange and clean-up right before our trip.
The fart gun he found when we went garage-saleing right before our trip.
These three things just say TWELVE-YEAR-OLD-SON to me, right now. 🙂
The Garage Sale
Really? Can you resist buying lemonade from this sweet miss?!!!
I was struck with this revelation this week.
{A definition of old and dear friends is: Showing up at your garage sale to buy lemonade.}
Hey baby dear!
And EXCITING!!!!
This baby has a new baby girl cousin! We now have FOUR nieces on Matthew’s side of the family.
The new little girl is named Mia Renae! 🙂 Pretty special.
Matthew had a baby sister, who was born with a heart problem. Her valves weren’t right and her blood wasn’t circulated right and was only supplying about half the oxygen she needed. She had surgery at eleven months old. She came through it ok, but then they had to take her back in and it was just too much for her little body. She was named Renea and that is where our Renae’s name came from.
So, this new baby niece’s middle name has double meaning.
“I go sell more lemonade, Mommy.”
Break out the bubbles during a slow spell.
I went out to put a letter in the mailbox. Sounds simple. I was not expecting it to turn into an-attack-of-the-bugs episode. When I opened the mailbox, there was mail in it and I went to grab it. A black, fuzzy spider scampered quickly into the folds of a magazine. Ewww!! I don’t like spiders!! As I was thinking about my plan of action, a moth flew out of the mailbox into my face. Now, moths aren’t nearly as bad as spiders, but I really don’t love them to fly in my face. The moth fluttered away and I pulled the mail out of the box and dropped the magazine-containing-the-spider on the ground and smashed the spider with my foot. End of attack-of-the-bug saga. Whew!
We had friends over on Memorial Day evening and the men pulled out favorite guns and had target practice and the girls chatted and we grilled hamburgers for supper.
Tucker had a friend come for the afternoon and they spent most of their time playing in and at the creek. It’s been flowing again with the rain we’ve had!
It was Ladies’ Bible Study week. We’re almost finished with James Mercy Triumphs. I’ve loved it and it’s always a little sad to draw towards the end of a great study. Many of my studies I’ve wanted to open right back up and start in again when I close the back cover.
LPM announced Summer Bible Study!
My man and son helped me clean the doctor’s office since Renae was gone. We grocery shopped and grabbed sandwiches at McDonalds.
Tucker worked on a welcome home box for Renae and a welcome home banner.
We attended the baptism of one of Tucker’s good friends. Hallelujah!
