Lots of object pictures for my journal this week!
Renae has had this vignette set up in her room for a while and I kept thinking I was going to take a picture of it. Loved how she displayed it all.
On our way home from visiting Matthew’s brother…
We visited our capital city, Topeka, Kansas and the capitol building, commonly referred to as the statehouse, when we were at his brothers. I have pictures to post. Waiting in line along with birthday pictures and Exploration Place and hauling and unloading hoppers…
Construction crew came back to cut the concrete…
Plumbing work in upstairs bath…at the stage of trying the shower and going from there…
happy breakfast
My kiddos fixed breakfast a couple of mornings for us all. They did great. Eggs, bacon, and fruit. And they fixed the table with pretty napkins and arranged the food and lit the tealights.
All trash cans emptied.
Trash isn’t pretty. Having a place to dispose of it in a somewhat structured way is a blessing. Reading about people that basically live in a landfill or on a trash heap or pick through the dump for food stays etched in my memory.
Bright. Cheery. Happy place for my glass of water to reside through the day. These coasters need to go in one of my favorite finds posts.
Bathroom cleaned and scrubbed. {It was needing a deeper cleaning touch} New homemade Lavender soap stuck in the shower. I bought it from the storefront where my sister has some of her creations. She has a post about the soap on her blog here and you can find and purchase the soap online here.
Baking…
I requested the book Me, Myself and Pie at our local library. I’ve enjoyed browsing through it and though I don’t need cookbooks, it would be fun to own I think. It has some great recipes, it’s really pretty and it has some fun tips for beautifying your pie crust edges.
I tried out a few cookie pie recipes.
Peanut Butter Chocolate and White Chocolate Macadamia ~ I don’t remember the exact names. We had friends coming by one afternoon, so we shared cookie pie and milk and hot drinks.
Both recipes called for crusts, but I opted to skip that step and just did the cookie filling for these recipes. It worked fine and I liked it better on these.
Movie night with my man…
I loved the mood this photo makes and couldn’t resist finding my camera.
Our waiter took orders for our breakfast. I snapped a quick picture of the order pad when I saw it laying there later.
Chores for neighbors for a couple of days while they were away visiting family.
Eggs can’t get much fresher than this! Just “picked” and yet to be washed.
Another cookie pie from the Pie Cookbook.
Not a total flop, but a total mess. And I’d made it for a carry-in dinner. Oh well! It totally ran over. If I’d been smarter, I have a couple of deeper pie plates. This is my favorite brand of pie plates and they are deep and too deep for some recipes. I don’t have pies run over too often in them. It was really full, but it didn’t occur to me that it might run over. I guess I was thinking cookie filling and it was thick.
Run over it did, though!
I also think it was underbaked, but it was good and it did get eaten. It was very rich. A small sliver went a long ways. It had Brownie in the name and had a chocolate shortbread crust. It was one of those recipes that calls for a glass of cold milk or a mug of hot coffee.
And thanks to my dear man, he hacked away at the baked-on-ran-over part on the pie plate and cleaned it up for me, so it looked a little better to take and share at the dinner. I thought about cutting it and putting it in something else, but that seemed like it would end up just as much a mess!
~Trivia and Trifles~

I told Matthew on Saturday morning that it looked liked a good day to sit and hold a baby. It’d been a little since we’d seen the girlies, so we made impromptu plans.
We met the March flexi! Have you seen it yet?
We had a winner for a giveaway. You can pop over here to find out who in the Rafflecopter. And pop over here to take a peek at a Washi Tape Clipboard….
