Life is an event. Live like it is, as often as possible.
Celebrating the small.
Embracing my everyday.
Using my pretty dishes.
Licking a lollipop.
Making hot chocolate.
Sharing with others.
Laughing long and loud, head thrown back.
Snuggling in my favorite blanket with an equally favorite book.
Opening the oven door and feeling the warmth from within on my face and breathing in the fragrant scent of pumpkin bread.
Whispering a thank you for the hot shower washing over my skin.
Taking time to feel the texture of the yarn as my needles knit another row.
Ignoring the mess in my kitchen and using my minutes to add pretty touches to the gift package in front of me.
Hugging long and hard.
Carnations on the windowsill.
Sparkly, twinkle lights.
Favorite hoodies and fresh, clean sheets.
Frosting cut-out cookies and going wild with the sprinkles.
Time with my people in our home.
Clipping boxwood and using baker’s twine.
Texting a friend.
Wearing hats and smiling happy.
Cuddling a nice, chubby baby.
Turning up the music and singing along, deep from my lungs.
Plumping up my pretty pillows on my couch.
Celebrations and traditions.
Most of life is lived in the everyday. In the in between. In the rituals and routines.
Sometimes I think we fall into living from event to event to event. And yes, parties and celebrations and vacations and church and pageants and all the things ARE good things. Blessings.
Life is the event. I don’t want to miss it! It doesn’t take much to add simple things that I love to my days.
What would your “Here’s to…..List” hold?
Have a wonderful weekend filled with love, peace and joy….and simple, lovely pleasures!
