I’m beginning to see how the secret ways and deepest mysteries of God and His kingdom are often revealed off the beaten path of organized religion and frequently missed by the too-smart. Sometimes it’s not the professor or preacher leading you to divine truth but the commonplace people God sticks right in front of your face. ~Jim Palmer

Sometimes it’s in the beautiful, messy details of life. I feel God’s goodness poured out. I see Him smiling because He is delighted to surprise me.
It’s in the unexpected happy email.
It’s in the heart-to-heart #soclosetoamazing moments shared with and laughed about with a friend.
It’s in the knowing and feeling He sees me and values me. He knows our love language. He knows our personality without looking at our assessment test or enneagram. He knows what makes us thrive and what passions bring us alive. He blesses me again and again through His other beloved children.
What we call commonplace becomes extraordinary.
The simple text. The gift dropped at my door. A lovely, laugh-out-loud card in the mail.
These dear friends probably would say, “Oh, it wasn’t much.” I think they’d label it “commonplace”.
I think they can’t see that they’re the ones He’s speaking through.
I value and appreciate good speakers and preachers and leaders. I value inspiration and encouragement.
And often, often it’s that intentional, yet simple, gesture of love, kindness and appreciation from a friend or acquaintance in my life that wraps around me like a giant hug straight from heaven and in the middle of commonplace-ordinary-everyday, beauty bursts forth and my Father’s face beams bright because He can’t contain His Love for us all.
May this commonplace Saturday be shot through with small moments to celebrate!
