One of my long-time friends had her first baby the end of August. A boy!
A couple other friends helped me and we held a baby shower for her in my basement, in September. My pictures aren’t all that great. I was too busy to stop and take good photos like I really wanted to. We decorated and prepped and put things in place the morning of the shower. We held it on a Friday afternoon. I thought it turned out really fun. I was grateful for the help from my friends. They brought food and decor items and ideas!
I had my friend send me some pictures of their new family of three and of her sweet little guy and we put together a slide show to play during the shower.
We did a beachy theme, because my friend’s husband is from Jamaica. It was a fun theme. We were still having hot days and temps, so the beach sounded pretty tempting!
Ok, even though my photos were quickly snapped, I love the way the fruit pizza we served, looks on the navy dotted plates. It made a striking combination. The plates came from Target and I wouldn’t mind just having some around to use for a teaparty or pretty snack. Somehow, they just really pop.
I asked my friend what sounded good for refreshments. She gave me some great suggestions! She said she really like a Brownie Fruit Pizza recipe that her sister-in-law fixes. And she mentioned Mint Iced Tea.
She and her husband both like nuts really well and she mentioned that.
It was a simple, but tasty snack to serve! We did the Brownie Fruit Pizza, Almonds and Cashews and Peanuts and two flavors of pretzels. For drinks, we made the Mint Tea and also offered Pineapple Sherbet Punch. Or water, of course!
It was a lovely afternoon. Sweet baby! Pretty gifts! Good food!
Her friends and family showered her with lots of great gifts! I’ve always loved baby stuff. I missed out some on the gifts, {busy hostessing} but there were some darling outfits and gorgeous blankets and a terrific chevron diaper bag in the mix. Her mother made a baby quilt and gave her. It was absolutely gorgeous. It was all white and then had an ocean type scene quilted on. I don’t recall all the detail, but it had a sailboat and palm tree.
