My farmer man was in the tractor and he was disking the small field right close to the house, giving me the opportunity to glance out my windows and see the tractor steadily working away.
Presently, I heard another engine and after hearing it a time or two I stepped to the window once again to see what was out there.
Behold, the bright, yellow spray plane which is a fairly common sight in our neighborhood. He was dipping and flying and spraying the corn in a neighboring field to our farm. He was close enough that his flight pattern took him directly over our farm and barnyard.
I plucked my camera from its spot on the countertop and pushed open my screendoor as I stepped onto the porch. Adjusting a couple of settings on my camera, I began to snap a few photos.
The sun glinted off of the bright yellow paint and I gazed and snapped and enjoyed my own private, country life air show.
I tried my hardest to snap a picture of the spray plane framed in between the tree and our shed, but I missed every time of getting it exactly. Mr. Sprayplane simply kept moving on too quickly for my reflexes. I even tried just snap, snap, snapping and still didn’t properly capture it.
When he had finished spraying, Mr. Yellow Sprayplane flew in my direction and roared directly over our house. He made a turn and came back dipping his wings and showing off a bit for us. I caught a few more shots. After circling over us twice, he took off in the direction of our small, local airport.
It was a fun scene to capture and watch.
A couple of times at our old house, we had the same sort of show. Our old farmhouse was directly in his flight path then, and he soared up and over our house in quite a few rotations. What a ride! I think I could not be a spray plane pilot, ever.

We live in rural Ohio and I have been watching the crop dusters the last couple of weeks. I love watching them and would love to ride in the plane with them! I just found your blog through Facebook and LOVE it! Can’t wait to read more about you and your family 🙂
I grew up in Ohio! Thanks so much for coming by and “telling” me you were here. 🙂
I’m not very brave. I’d rather watch from the ground!
It looks like he landed in your barnyard! That pic that shows plane and tractor is really neat.
I know! Isn’t it great?! 🙂 The pilot was getting quite a ride!
