GAZING AT THE BABY IN THE MANGER
I want to see the baby in the manger, yes, I do,
I want to gaze upon him with a child’s eyes and view,
I want to see him all wrapped up in his swaddling clothes,
I want to gaze upon his little fingers and his toes,
I want to smooth his hair, all downy, soft, and fuzzy,
I want to hold him close to me, all snug, and oh so cuddly,
I want to kiss his cheek, so soft and sweet and smooth,
I want to watch him yawn and blink and watch him stretch and move,
I want to pat his little back and smell his baby smell,
I want to see the baby who doeth all things well.
I want to see the baby, I want Him to dwell in me,
I want to see the baby for He has set me free,
I want to see the baby and be lost in child-like love,
I can’t wait to see the baby and live with Him above!

The Baby Jesus is the favorite figure in the nativity scene, isn’t He? Isn’t it an awesome thing to know that He isn’t just part of a precious scene, but He lives inside our hearts and He came as that baby in the manger because He loved us THAT MUCH.
You will find us gazing at the baby in previous years here and here…

Love this poem and these photos are awesome. And yes the most amazing thing is that Jesus is part of the scene and wants to be a part of our lives every single day!
