In reply to <a href="https://adelightfulglow.com/my-painted-cupboards-project/#comment-37029">Jill Flory</a>.

I love having the cupboards painted. I did put a Minwax poly on them. I think Travis had said get a water based and I thought I did. I realized later it was oil based and it did yellow some. If it was as easy as typing it, i would prob go back over the top cupboard doors, but it's fine. Most people won't even pay that much attention to the cupboards and the basement is our rec room.

I understand the not getting around in blog world!! I've been working here at A Delightful Glow, but haven't been getting over to too many blogs. I love to, but can't do everything. And I think maybe blogging is becoming old-fashioned?? :) So many people like social media. Things have changed a BUNCH in the last three years. I still love blogging and blogs!!!!

Oh I LOVE it! But you knew I would! I love me some painted cabinets :)
And I'm ALL ABOUT the mismatched knobs! I howled when I read what Mr. Matthew said! Oh that is too too funny! Yeah, they just don't 'get' what makes us tick - thankfully they tend to just shake their heads and let us go our merry way!
You did a great job. Did you put a finish over the paint? I can't remember what you said you were going to do.
And I can't believe it took me this long to get over here to see this post - I'm such a lazy blogger lately.

In reply to <a href="https://adelightfulglow.com/my-painted-cupboards-project/#comment-35915">Lauryn</a>.

I didn't do much prep work. {Not as much as my husband would've. ;) } But I tend to be rather that way and the cupboards are in our basement/family room area, so they're not as big a deal as if they were my main kitchen. I did do some sanding, and my husband filled some holes for me from where the old hardware was, since I was replacing the door knobs.

I also used chalk paint, not milk paint. I wanted to use chalk paint, because it doesn't require a lot of prep work. I've not used milk paint and don't know a whole lot about it.

Check out my sister's blog, Sew a Fine Seam. She loves to paint and has done lots of stuff and she uses milk paint and chalk paint. Email her or leave a comment~she'd be glad to help you with questions!

Thanks for coming by!

Looks wonderful! We just moved into a new home and I desperately want to paint the cabinets in the study. Did you have to do any sanding or prep work before beginning to paint with the milk paint? And thanks for linking up to #MotivationMonday!
