Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams ~
My knitting projects.
They wait.
My lone fingerless mitt is getting lonely.
I did very little knitting last week.
It’s summer for one reason.
Another fun reason ~ My parents and niece were here all last week visiting. That meant other things to do! Visiting with my aunt and lunch with friends and some shopping thrown in!
Plus, the normal mix of everyday and farm stuff.
Knitting projects wait really well, though. It is a very strong character point for them.
And they always take pretty pictures!
I’m reading The Happiness Dare and it is totally making me happy! 🙂
We need happy and positivity in our world. We need to be active in our attitudes for this, I believe. No, I’m not immune to the many things happening in our world. Fact is, I’d like to be more immune than I am. This is part of the reason, I believe we need to look for the happy in every day. God designed us with joy and happiness and He etched it into our characters. Sin ruins His perfect design.
I really am enjoying reading this book. It just released yesterday. I’d pre-ordered it on Amazon a while back and it shipped early and arrived in my mailbox last week. Making me happy, of course!!
Hop over here to take The Happiness Dare assessment and find out your happiness style.
Have you ever done a Myers-Briggs personality assessment? The happiness one made me think of this. I find these tests terribly fascinating and interesting. There’s a free one here. Let me know your type!
I started this 30 day devotional and my plan is to work through it in August.
It comes from Proverbs 31 Ministries.
Each day has a devotional reading and a prayer for your husband and/or marriage. There is a Reflect and Respond section for each day as well. These contain questions or prompts to inspire you in your marriage.
It’s always good for me to have inspiration and fresh words directly pertaining to marriage. I appreciate the encouragement. I love my man and I’m thankful for him and for our marriage! I deeply believe the devil is full-out against us in our marriages. He wants to sabotage them and tear up families. We are in a fight to protect and grow our marriage with our mate.
I’m planning to start this study in September. I’m pretty excited about it. I was already planning to do it and then I saw an opportunity to sign up for the launch team for this study. I signed right up and I’m part of the team to spread some love about this study. This made me happy, too!
If you pre-order, Entrusted before August 15th, you will also receive a free set of Scripture cards. I mentioned this offer in this Yarn Along post and you can hop over here to order, if you’d like.
KID PICK.
My post last week featured Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book.
The above picture of Georgie sent me to Ebay searching for this Little Golden. I found an inexpensive one and it was soon arriving in my mailbox. The pictures are by Eloise Wilkin. Always a favorite and part of the reason I searched for this book. The story is swoon-worthy! Plain adorable.
I sat down in the living room to read this book. My teen daughter and niece were cozied in chairs, each of them reading a novel. I laughed as I opened my Little Golden Book and remarked to them, “We’re all reading books at our age level!” 😉
And one last glimpse of this week’s stack!

“The Happiness Project” looks so good! I took the quiz – I’m a Thinker (duh). What are you? I’m definitely putting this on my TBR list! Also glad you are on the launch team – so nice to see someone I “recognize” in the mob (see Happiness type). I’m also planning on doing this study in September.
I am really enjoying The Happiness Project. I definitely recommend it.
I actually come out pretty similar in four of the Happiness categories. Interesting! Doer and Giver, I think with Relater as my lowest score. I do honestly relate to part of all the explanations about each one. And there are also parts of each explanation that I don’t feel like are me.
I’m happy to be on the Launch team. 🙂 September will be here before we know it!
I love Eloise Wilkin; her book “Baby Dear” was one that we read over and over when my girls were littler even though the photos are so dated. It is still so sweet!
Baby Dear was one of my favorites as well. It was my kid pick in an earlier Yarn Along. 🙂
The pictures are absolutely so sweet.
It was cold and wet on our summer holiday so I knitted a thick hat and some scrummy fingerless mitts. I’m glad you have warm weather!
