Well, it’s no secret I’ve been a bit nutty over pom-poms. {Come see my pom-poms in this post if you missed it.}
Look what my daughter gave me! She made me some pom-pom bookmarks. A Pinterest inspiration idea she found! She said, “I thought I’ve got to make some for Mom, because she’s been all excited about pom-poms.”
I love them!
They were a fun surprise!
AND………..
I just happened to have some books to tuck the pom-pom markers in!
Total score! 🙂

My Fringe Hours is a fairly new release. It’s part book, part journal. Which is pretty much a winning combination. I am just a few pages in. On page 19 to be exact.
I read The Fringe Hours earlier in 2015 and really, really liked it. I thought I posted about it in a Yarn Along, but can’t find it, so apparently I didn’t. I may have talked about it in another post. Or I may have thought “I want to blog about this book,” but never transitioned thought from mind to blog.
That happens. A lot. To me anyway.
You can get The Fringe Hours in e-book version by clicking over here.
I still love paper books and hardcover books much better than ebooks. “Real books” as I call them. That being said, ebooks are SUPER-DUPER handy to have stored on a tablet or in your phone. Easily accessible. Pretty much always with you. Something to read as you stand in line. Definite perks. I have carried a “real” book in my bag and pulled it out when waiting in line or waiting for an appointment. It’s not as handy, though. And heavier.
BECAUSE you can have a whole library of ebooks with you and it weighs the same as if you only had one ebook.
My Fringe Hours has ideas and inspiration to spark ways to use your time and to take time for things you love. It takes it further by including journaling pages with questions to make you think about what you love and what you want to spend time at and how you want to spend your time and days. I like it very much. THE Fringe Hours and MY Fringe Hours would make a really great set.
I started The Bronte Plot a while back and haven’t finished it yet. I’m getting close to the end, because I’ve been reading it a good bit lately. I’ve felt like just escaping into a fun story more than thinking, so I pick this up instead of Rising Strong or another think-and-consider title in my stack. 🙂
I read Katherine Reay’s other two books last year and loved them a lot. Go to this post to see Dear Mr. Knightley and this post for Lizzy and Jane.
I read Dear Mr. Knightley first. Totally loved the style the book was written in. I read Lizzy and Jane second and I ended up liking it the best. I like The Bronte Plot, but Lizzy and Jane is still my favorite!
I should have opened My Fringe Hours up for a picture or two, so you could see the inside. If I get a moment, I will snap a couple and update.
UPDATE: Here’s a bit of a peek inside to catch a glimpse of how My Fringe Hours is laid out.
See? Pom-pom book markers make such fun pops of color! {All the hand claps.}
The Seven Laws of Love released yesterday. Order it on Amazon here. You can see some quotes from it in this post and this post.
It is an amazing book.
My girlie also gave me this great dishcloth. She said she thought the yarn and colors looked like me. It’s currently in use in my kitchen!
Darling, delightful doilies!!!
I sort of wish I could say I made them. Sort of. They look a little tricky.
And I can’t say I made them.
BUT, I can say I love them!
Totally love them.
They came from Etsy and my Mother gave them to me for Christmas.
I like all the colors and styles. So fantastic!
Pop over to this Etsy shop and look at all the darling doilies she has to offer!
Last but not least! My kids’ pick book.
I read these stories when I was young and I loved reading them to my children. Don and Joyce go to stay with their grandparents. Every evening Grandma tells them a “Bee” story. Bee Honest. Bee Truthful. Bee Kind.
Part of the fun of the book I’ve always thought was the story within a story. It feels like a bonus. You’re getting two stories for the price of one! 🙂
Oh, and this quote from Pollyanna that I came across this week ~

Now that’s a colorful post! Love all the bright yarniness and the pompom bookmarks — how sweet! 🙂
Me too! 🙂
Your girl is so sweet! She knows her mama so well!
I love real books too but I’d be lost without reading on my tablet as my only opportunity is when my baby is asleep, in the dark, on top of me! Hey ho! Have a wonderful week
There are definite advantages to e-books! 🙂

I thought it was a pretty cute idea, myself! They look so cute tucked into a book.
What awesome gifts, pompoms rock! I’m intrigued by the Jane Austen theme books, must check them out 🙂
The Kathryn Reay books are very good, I think! 🙂 I’ve enjoyed them a lot.
