I actually worked on my dishcloth some more! I thought it might be just in the very same stage as last week. My cousin and her family are here visiting and her husband is helping out my farmer man during harvest. We’ve had some moments here and there to chat and I worked on my dishcloth one evening while we talked and laughed and laughed some more.
My cousin and I have known each other all our lives. We were together some, but not a lot when we were kids. She’s younger than I am by a couple of years and I had four cousins right at my age and we had another girl cousin who was close to her age.
We were together more after we were older and then after we were both married and our husbands met and hit it off! They live in Ohio and we live in Kansas, so we don’t see them just often.
We have much the same sense of humor and we can dissolve into a fit of giggles over not much of anything and our children look at us like they aren’t quite sure what to think. Well, the younger ones anyway. My daughter told me yesterday, that she and my cousin’s oldest daughter laughed almost as much as my cousin and I.
We start laughing at things that wouldn’t even be that funny if someone else said them, but they strike us funny and we know the other one will totally relate.
So, I digress from my dishcloth, but working on it and chatting and laughing actually has me with some progress this week. I finished reading Dear Mr. Knightley. Totally loved it. Now I want to read Lizzy & Jane by the same author.
I’ve been reading through the devotional, Savor, by Shauna Niequist. I always want to spell her last name with an e for the second i for some reason. It’s such a pretty book and I really appreciate many of her thoughts and struggles and encouragement.
I’m linking up over at Yarn Along!

Nothing like family and those you grew up with to share giggles and fun.
Truly. God gifts us with the blessing of kindred spirits here and there.
