We have a new niece and cousin!
We were so happy to hear about her safe arrival and to get to go squeeze her. It was a good thing to do on a Saturday morning. What a miracle the birth of a baby is. We oohed and awed over her soft skin and sweet little hands and feet. We talked about how alert and laid-back she was. She had her eyes wide open when we arrived and just looked around and worked her tongue and sucked on her fists. After a while she calmly went to sleep in Uncle Matthew’s arms. {Uncle Matthew got a little sleepy himself.}
We just recently started reading Life Without Limits, so we talked about how wonderful it was that this tiny, little girl is blessed with arms and legs. We mused about how different a brand-new baby really would look if it had no arms or legs. It seems like one of the first things to do with a new baby is to peek at their tiny feet and feel them take a hold of your finger with their tiny fist.
We rejoiced in this sweet dearie and we praised God for a healthy, miraculous baby!
She didn’t like Aunt Deborah’s camera flash…
Psalm 139:13-15
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous-how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

She is so precious! And your kiddos look so pleased with her! I think they would like a baby at THEIR house – heehee!
Well, maybe they will like it then, when baby cousin needs a baby-sitter and comes to our house! 🙂
AAAWWWW!! So sweet! Her hairline and forehead make me think of Tucker’s newborn pics. Love the pics of the big cousins holding her. Renae looks so motherly and Tucker looks so——um, not sure how to describe his expression, but I love it. Would be fun to cuddle her a little bit. Also would like to hug her cousins.
I hadn’t thought of that, but I see what you mean.
I don’t think Tucker was too crazy about holding her. He complied when I told him I wanted him to hold her so I could take a picture. I soon asked him if he wanted me to take her and he did. “She’s heavy,” he said.
Melinda said that her little brother-age 12-said he would hold her, but NOT kiss her. 🙂
What a Miracle! Can’t wait to squeeze her! Baby cousins are so fun! (Poor Alli is getting a year’s worth of squeezes and kisses from us!:) Like the pics!
When you live so many miles away, you have to get your squeezing in when you can. Especially since babies grow so fast!!
