Friday again!
I have been drinking in sunshine and perfect September weather all week.
These pictures are from a few weeks ago.
I found this tank on sale at J. Crew. I really like it and like the embellishments on it. They add just the right touch. Totally fits my taste. 🙂 So fun when you find items like that.
This gray sweater keeps becoming more and more a favorite. I really, really love it. I can pair it with a lot of things and it is lightweight and perfect for summer as well as spring and fall.
It is definitely one of my staple wardrobe items.
Oh, HOW I wish I could tell when I’m shopping which clothing pieces will be this kind! 🙂
I borrowed this necklace from my dearie girl.
I think it came from Rue 21, but I’m not 100% sure and she’s not close by to ask. {Or even in hollering distance.} 😉
My flexi! I like all my flexis, but this one is one of my top ten. It might even make the #1 slot!
It is the Daisy Freestyle. Find it here…
Here are a couple of other flexis for fun!
I was talking to a friend this week about flexis and she mentioned both of these as favorites she wears a lot in the spring and summer.
And Hibiscus Sunset right here!!
Then we swooned over this beautiful, danglie flexi called Arwen! Isn’t it so pretty?
In other flexi news, tomorrow will usher in the October flexi! That also means if you want this hot air balloon one, today is your last chance!!
Click over to Lilla Rose if you want to get this balloon before it floats away! 🙂
{Psst. We will also have a NEW special for October.}
And here’s my wardrobe photographer! I threw in this picture because I love it and I love to hear the music as her fingers run across the piano keys.
In other news, I read this post over at Andrea Dekker and really loved it! I love her term and title for it. It’s called Upgrading the Everyday and she talks about adding in simple, lovely things to your everyday and bringing bright spots to our days. I loved it, because I relate to it. I enjoyed doing simple things with my kiddos when they were small. And isn’t that a fun way to phrase it??? UPGRADING THE EVERYDAY.
It reminds me of Melissa Micheals’ description for using everyday things as part of making our home beautiful. She calls it everyday on display.
Andrea mentions clipping flowers and bringing them inside and this simple thing makes everything seem fresher. I still enjoy clipping blooms and bringing them indoors to enjoy.
They were giving out free roses at Dillons for customer appreciation yesterday and mine is brightening up my kitchen right now! {Among the clutter!!} Our Dillons does this every so often and I love it when I happen in the store on one of these days. So nice of them and I appreciate the lovely it adds to my day.
Another hugely bright spot in my day yesterday happened as I shopped at Dillons. I was opening the freezer door to pull out a pail of vanilla ice cream when I noticed a familiar face a few doors down. A sweet, older lady was reaching in for ice cream, too. I don’t “know, know” her, but I’ve seen her at a church we attend sometimes and she has been at the women’s ministry meetings that I went to some. When Renae and I were cleaning, we would often run into Dillons after we were finished on Wednesday evenings. There was a span of time when this dear lady was there about every week when we were.
As we each pulled our ice cream out, we said “Hello!”
“I’m getting ice cream for my husband,” she told me as she put the carton in her cart.
I laughed. “So, am I. And for my teenage son. He would eat ice cream three meals a day if he could.”
She smiled and answered, “I don’t suppose ice cream will hurt them.”
We headed to check out and I’m sure she didn’t know how much she’d made my day. She reminds me a little of my Grandma. I love seeing her live out her life in a quiet, godly example as an older women. Still caring for her husband. Doing life. Getting the little things.
Such a gentle reminder of how our small day-to-days add up and how we all impact people in our lives. It reminded me of what an important job we all have simply in caring for our family or whoever God has placed in our lives.
She doesn’t know how her sweet actions blessed my day and left me pondering on them off an on for the rest of the day.
Have a great weekend!
{we have a giveaway that started yesterday and I am really excited about a giveaway we have coming up next week!}

Love reading as you share the beauty and humility of your everydays.
I think this quote very much describes you and many of your posts:
“She doesn’t know how her sweet actions blessed my day and left me pondering on them off an on for the rest of the day.”
Be blessed, dear Deborah! Thank you for sharing
