John 14:15-17
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
I have Life, because I know the Truth.
I have the truth in me.
Truth, truth, that makes me free.
Jesus, I will abide in you.
I will abide in Truth.
I can live in freedom when I trust in my Savior and truth.
Life throws things at us and Satan throws confusion and I’m left wondering at times what truth is and where the people of integrity are. We skirt around issues and selfishness crops up and truth seems choked.
The more I just turn to Jesus, the more the Spirit of truth is reigning in my life, even among turmoil and questions and doubts and half-truths that swarm and threaten to suffocate. Louder voices aren’t always right voices. Condemnation isn’t always truth. Condoning sin isn’t truth.
That steady Spirit. That steady voice. They don’t change. Because truth doesn’t change.
God forgives again and again. Yet, his truth never changes. He is alive! Truth is alive! And my God of truth can handle it all. All the mess and the distortion and He can figure it all out. I’m free from it all and He will take my yoke.
Though sometimes I just want to draw completely away from life and all the untruth, it doesn’t work that way. Not here. Someday we’ll sit at the feet of Jesus and every thing, every single thing, will be white and pure and clean, and confusion and corruptness can not enter. EVER. The spirit of truth will reign supreme and we will sing, Holy, holy, holy! Peace will reign and hearts will shout. Complete holiness. It makes my soul soar to think of it.
The wonder.
The awe.
Glory.
No more questions.
No more falsehoods.
No more disagreements.
No lies.
No hidden agendas.
No secrets.
Openness.
Purity.
Praise.
Just resting with my Father.
Basking in His never failing care.
Rejoicing.
Rejoicing.
My soul magnifies the Lord.
My spirit rejoices in God my Savior.

Loved this post. Your conviction and hope rings out in every word. God has been showing me how much His children need the continuance of The Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit has been watered down so much in American Christianity; reserved for those “fringe charismatics”. But as the Scripture you used today points out Jesus spoke so much about The Holy Spirit coming, and how much we need Him, what a gift He is. In fact, I would say that a believer cannot even separate Truth and The Holy Spirit in his or her life.
Glad I was your 5minfri neighbor today.
Cheers,
Leah

So love this. What a unique entry you have contributed to FMF. And…it resonates with me so, so much. It’s uncanny that my post TOTALLY coincides with your statement, ” Condemnation isn’t always truth. Condoning sin isn’t truth.” I just love meeting kindred spirits via FMF. Glad I stopped by.

Thanks for letting me know you stopped by! 🙂
I’ve long loved the term kindred spirits! One of my favorite terms from Anne of Green Gables. She was so right when she said some people are just true kindred spirits!
