Today I bring a bit about schoolbooks. We’ve homeschooled ever since R was a tiny kindergartener. We’ve had schoolbooks we’ve loved and some we didn’t. We’ve had some I definitely wished we wouldn’t have bought. We’ve done some of this and we’ve tried some of that. Trial and error. Learn along the way! And every time we found a book or subject we really liked, we were happy!
I wrote about some reasons I like to homeschool in this post waaayyyy back at the beginning of my blog.
Teaching Textbooks have been wonderful for us. Especially as my small scholars became older and older. It has been great for us. They have liked it and it helps them become independent students and it helps me because it grades it too!
These doodle books are just plain fun. Each page contains a question or idea to answer and draw and doodle.
Daily Geography.
Fun maps with two questions per day. They are simple, yet they teach a lot about maps and the components of maps, while also teaching facts about the states or countries on each particular map.
T did one of these in first grade. It was very simple and yet taught a lot about using a map and taught skills in finding locations and examining the details. They both did the fourth grade one. We did BJU Press schoolbooks for a couple of years and then Tucker worked through the fifth and sixth grades of Daily Geography. They only go through the sixth grade level; at least as far as I am aware!
What favorite school books are on your shelves?
