For today’s Ten on Tuesday, I bring you a topic very near and dear to my heart.
This particular post has stirred around in my brain for a very long time. I’ve often thought about posting it and it would then get shoved aside again and again and again and again and again and…………well, perhaps you get the point. {it got shoved aside a lot.}
I must give credit where credit is due.
My sister and my cousin supplied much insight and help and suggestions and experimentation to help compile this list. A heartfelt thank-you to them both!
BUT, they do NOT, by any means, get all the credit.
I lent much insight as well.
 {We may or may not have experience in these areas. We may or may not have occasionally had something like this happen. We may  or may not have witnessed these things happening to other people or every now and then caught ourselves in one of these areas. May or may not. Every now and then. Because that would be telling. 😉 ;)}
1. The laundry gets much cleaner, if you actually PUT it IN the washer, before running the wash cycle. But, on the upside, you now have a clean washing machine.
2. If you’ve been looking for a clean towel and you’re racking your brain and racking your brain trying to think where the towels have vanished to, perhaps take a peek inside the dryer. Towels have a way of flocking to the dryer for a secret meeting. {I think they concoct ways to make socks disappear.}
3. If you remove hairspray and mirror from the drawer, it works best to place the mirror on the counter and HOLD the hairspray bottle you are intending to shake instead of vice versa. Otherwise you could find yourself staring stupidly at your hand as you shake your mirror relentlessly.
4. Blending food in the blender is much less messy, if you put the lid of the blender on TIGHTLY! {I suppose a good mess now and then is invigorating…or not.}
5. Hamburger browns much more quickly if you actually turn the burner on.
6. When mixing up cookies, they are much tastier if you put the BUTTER in the mixing bowl and the butter wrapper in the trash can. Besides, it makes no sense to cart butter home from the grocery and then simply throw it away.
7. When filling the salt shaker, it is a good idea to cover the holes in the top while filling from the bottom. Salt WILL come out of those holes. It’s also a good idea to put the stopper back in the bottom of the salt shaker BEFORE you turn it back over. These are good kinds of things to know.
8. Plugging your laptop charger to your computer only charges the computer if the other end is plugged into the electrical outlet. Having the charger dangling down to the floor does nothing.
9. Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are more chocolatey when you put the chocolate chips in them. Quite.
10. When waiting in the middle of a divided highway and stopping until it is safe to proceed, looking for oncoming traffic from the left is not required. It IS good to live safely, but let us sincerely hope that there will not be oncoming traffic from the left when you are sitting in the middle.
