Last year we used BJU Press as our curriculum for our homeshool. We really liked a lot of things about it, but at the same time missed some of the things we had previously used. A lot of our stuff for school has come from Timberdoodle, and I still like to shop there. They have super-cool-fun stuff.
This year we are using BJU Press again for our workbooks. We used their distance learning online option last year and are doing it again, too. I really, really like the videos and the workbooks. My kiddos do too, for the most part. My son would be quite glad if his life wasn’t interrupted in any way, shape, or form with school, but unfortunately there’s no getting around it. There’s school to do, whether he goes to school or stays at home for school!
They have some really fun props in their videos!
Having a cozy, squeezy friend beside you helps the lesson go by quicker!
Renae’s handwriting this year includes some penmanship.
The floor is surprisingly uncluttered! I can’t believe it!
That’s a little peek at our school day!
What is something you like about your kiddos schooling, whether you homeschool or go to school?
I loved looking at your homeschool day! and your day checking out the B-17! how fun! we live near an Air Force Base and my girls really love seeing all the planes. thanks for linking up and visiting the blog party!
I couldn’t get my link up to show up for me. It probably came through more than once, then , if it went through! 🙂 I tried several times and refreshed the page and waited etc. Anyway, thanks! I liked your linkup idea! I always enjoy seeing other people’s school ideas, too.
Love the glimpse into your everyday life! I’ve toyed with the idea of homeschooling, but feel like with a toddler in the house, it would just be rather chaotic, esp. since I was used to teaching older students in a normal “quiet” classroom =) Who knows what may happen someday. We have a wonderful school, that is for sure. One thing we do this year, is I drive every morning…so we do prayer requests and pray for the day, their unique challenges, and the teachers on the way to pickup Carolyn’s children. Then in the afternoon, I like to ask them 2 questions…”What was the best thing about your day?” and “What was the most challenging thing about your day?” Not “yes/no” questions. =) God bless you as you keep them on track!
I like your morning prayers and afternoon questions! I like to ask my kids questions like that now and then. It’s always interesting to see what they say!
