Our neighbors were gone a couple of weekends ago, so R&T fed a few animals and gathered eggs. It’s always fun to see how many eggs they collect and I always think they are so pretty!
Birthday gifts! #funstuff #FunGiftIdeas
I love to get gifts, I love to put gifts together and I love to get ideas for gifts from gifts! Does any of that make sense?! It’s so fun to put together a collection of items, for a gift, consisting of things I love or would love to receive.
I’ve given away two lip balms already like the one in this gift package, because I love it! It’s easy to use and easy to find and easy to grab in comparison to a stick of lip stuff. And there are some fun flavors and colors! Available at a Wal-Mart near you!!!
Since the weeds have thrived with all the rain, it is off to the field. Summer farmwork squashed into a shorter time frame. We still have a little bit of wheat in the field, but with all the rain, it has sprouted in the head and add that into a drought-stressed year, it is not good quality. Many of the grain elevators don’t even want it and aren’t taking it. Insurance has looked at it and we won’t cut it. Harvest this year was extremely interesting, in not-really-a-fun-way. Way more fun to cut good wheat and way more fun to get in there and continue to cut when the wheat is ripe!

Beautiful, bright blueberries!
My bro-in-law got us started on smoothies. So pretty before you blend! Not so pretty afterward, but yummy!
Beautiful Birthday Blooms! Love the wheat in the bouquet!
Birthday gifts and details I want to remember~

Fun new scarf in one of my gift bags! It is so cute!
Our week hopped right along~ we helped do corn at my sister-in-laws’, ortho app, friends over for the afternoon, lunch with friends for my birthday, county fair, adopted an orphan kitten that showed up at our aunt’s house, supper at friends’ house, delivered a trailer set up with a display of soil and roots back to its home, ate lunch with our family in eastern KS, news about new babies’ arrival to cousins here and cousins in CA, sad news of sudden loss of spouses~one husband lost his wife in a car accident and a wife lost her husband to a stroke, neither one living close to us, but people we know and it always makes me sad for their loss and helps me focus on giving thanks for each day,
I added a few ideas for fun outside stuff to my Pinterest board.
I came across this old post and enjoyed remembering the violets I had over at our old house.
I was tired till the end of the week. It seemed like from Wednesday on, we had a lot of in and out and happenings. I feel so much better, but I get still get tired and I can tell when it is all catching up.
I tweeted this tweet this morning,
“It’s fun to go. It’s fun to do stuff. But, I LoVe to be home!”
I do always love coming home and always have, even when we would arrive home to our very old { and in the winter, cold} farmhouse where we used to live. Because home is people and memories and sanctuary and our “stuff”. No matter how big or little, how full or how empty, home is so much more than just a house, and I am thankful for it.
I have talked to a couple of people who had unhappy situations and did not embrace going home. I know there are too many people who don’t really have, “home”, and I feel compassion for them all and pangs of sadness.
And, of course, we all have home, no matter what. Christ is our home and He is anywhere and everywhere the world over.
May we truly know home in Him.
Have a great week!
