Are you thinking about a new planner or looking for one?
Or are you like me and love to check out new planners, read about them and look at them? 🙂
IF so, this is a post for YOU!!!
I love trying out a variety of planners. Now, I’m not the planner-perfect-person. I doubt I’ve ever used a planner to its full potential. I’ve still never found a planner that is EXACTLY everything I want. I think there may be a couple of reasons for this:
No. 1 ~ Re-read the opening sentence. I like trying out planners. I like turning the pages and checking out the features and making some lists and checking some checkboxes. Planners are books. I like books. I love pens and pencils and markers. I like to write in my planner. A new planner is a new adventure and a new book! Therefore, I don’t know. Maybe, I will never settle on a perfect-for-me-includes-every-feature-I need planner!
No. 2 ~ I like change. Part of me thrives on routine, but part of me likes trying new routines or rhythms or planners! 🙂 On the heels of that, life continually changes. Babies grow up, babies join the family, babies start sleeping all night, activities come and go, jobs begin and finish, lessons change. And I think, for me, all of this may affect what features are best for me in a planner at a certain stage. Therefore, once again I may never land on that exactly-perfect-planner!
Here are a couple I’ve used in the last few years and I do really like them. I will warn you. They aren’t cheap. If you only want or need a small, inexpensive notebook type planner, these won’t be your thing.
Favorite Features of Both Planners Include:
beautiful covers
the heavy pages
the heavy-duty spiral binding
details like the protective corner covers
This is the planner I’ve been using this year.
The pictures will give you an inside peek!
Pros:
I love the Work and Personal boxes and top 3 Tasks for each area.
I like the space to jot down quick memories and give gratitude for everyday things.
I like how this planner can become a memory book and journal as you go. Especially for a mom of littles. You can at least jot down funny things your kiddos say and keep a record in your planner and/or pen it into a baby book or scrapbook for your children at a later date. There’s not always time or ease to go pull out another book in the moment to capture the funny memory.
This planner has Project Planning pages in the back, as well as Habit Trackers.
Each week has a space for a Gratitude list, Memories, and stressors and solutions!
And I love the floral design on the pages.
I wish there were a few more Notes pages for each month and I wish there was a place to specifically jot menus for the day or week. It’s very workable though!
You can shop the Brilliant Life Planner here, although I don’t think their new styles for next year are out quite yet!

I’ve had three of these planners and thoroughly enjoyed them. I’ve used both the weekly and daily format.
The pictures below are a mix of the two styles of Purposeful Planner I’ve used.
This is the weekly format with space for each day.
This is the daily and it has a page for EACH weekday in the spiral bound. In the Leatherette, each day has a page and the weekends share a page. I liked the brain dump area, for extra notes or want-to-remembers.
Pros:
I love that they offer a mid-year planner. Mid-year is my favorite. I like beginning a new planner in July. Somehow, December is always busy enough without thinking about beginning a new planner. Kooky, maybe, but it’s how I roll! Ha!
I love the quotes positioned at the top of each page.
I like the space to jot down menus.
They offer a budgeting page.
It holds a checklist for drinking water.
I also, personally love the spiral bound planner over the leatherette one. I love, love the look of the leatherette and it isn’t quite as heavy to carry or move, but the spiral pages are easier to turn and the planner lays open better. I do love that the leatherette has two ribbon book markers in it.
I’m an affiliate for Corie Clark and the Purposeful Planner, so if you decide to purchase and do so through my link, I will earn a bit of a commission from your purchase. AND thank-you, if you do!! {I appreciate it.}

The durability and beauty of both these planner brands are definite pros for me! I’ve loved them both!
I like the size as well. I’d say they’re roughly a little smaller than 8×10 size. I like how they feel like a book that will hold up. AND I’ve saved my old ones because I love how pretty they are and they give me a bit of a record if I want to look back and remember when an event or happening in our lives was.

I’d love to hear if YOU have a favorite planner? Do you stick with one brand or do you like to switch around?
I’d also absolutely love to hear if you decide to purchase one of these planners! 🙂
