I have a whole file of pictures (remember my recent blog post of B’s picture taking, lol) of Lego creations. My boys always want to leave their creations out and Mom always wants them taken apart and put away so we compromise by them taking pictures to remember them. My boys’ builds aren’t that elaborate but I do love the idea of getting them more people for Christmas…except we constantly have amputees around here.

In reply to Melanie. That's a neat idea to take them to a potluck. Legos are something lots of kids can do and it seems like all ages love them. I think my 12 year-old daughter plays with them more now than she did when she was younger. And I love seeing what they come up with to build!

Twice we’ve taken our tubs of legos on potluck Sundays. It’s fun watching all ages working together. The first time the idea was to build Noah’s Ark. They came up with an ark abt 2′ long and multiple animal pairs that afternoon. The 2nd time was to make a nativity scene. It’s amazing how they decide to build with only a couple of hours to work.

In reply to Jill Flory. The people are fun! Maybe, I'll have to tuck that idea away for your girls for Christmas. I like the concert too. When I saw it, I told him not to take it apart until I had taken pictures of it.

I think he looks at his Lego magazines and uses ideas, plus his experience from building his sets.

We have wooden Thomas trains and I think they are the same idea. My kids don’t play with them as much now, but they spent hours with them when they were younger. They still play with them now and then.

I like kid’s toys too! 🙂
