These don’t last very long at our house! I made them and took them to the field while we were cutting corn. My brother dubbed them “Gooey Bars” and the name stuck. Part of the fun of the name, is hearing my son ask if he can have a gooey bar. There’s just something about the way he says gooey bar that is fun to hear. He would ask if he could have one, and my brother would say, “What did you want?” just to hear him say it again.
If you make gooey bars, enjoy eating them AND enjoy saying the name!

Sounds yummy! It looks similar to one my mom made while I was growing up. Haven’t thought about it in a long time 🙂

They are yummy! And rather addictive, unless you aren’t a peanut butter and chocolate fan!

Hey Deb! I literally washed the 9×13 that had them in it yesterday…was contemplating making another batch. I made them for singing, only 1 was taken =) I thought to myself “I need to mark that recipe in my cookbook” It’s one of my favorite cookbooks! =) Enjoy your gooey bars, maybe I’ll make some for Apple butter making on Sat. =_) (cause I can’t have tooo many cookies around my kitchen, they yell my name all day long!)

I can’t have them around calling my name either! 🙂

Yum! Going to have to try these soon. How gooey are they – does the peanut butter drizzle harden at all?

The drizzle does harden. They’re mainly gooey when you try to eat them right away. Which we always do. 🙂
