One of the mornings, while our kiddos were in Ohio, I rode along with my man to check oil wells and then I dropped him off at his tractor. It worked out well, because I was able to snap a bunch of pictures. Too often, I don’t have my camera when I want to snap away. When I do remember to grab it, on my way out the door, then I don’t end up with photo opportunities. Murphy’s law?
I had fun shooting picture after picture while he did his preflight checks. Fueling, greasing, wrenching, checking. Systems good to go.
He told me, as my camera shutter clicked away, he thought it was quite possible that he was the only farmer in our county who had been photographed greasing a chisel. I laughed and answered,”Might be. And blogged about.”
I like taking photos of our farm. Many times I’m busy with other things or I forget the camera, yet again.
And then I have fun editing them. It just all takes time. That’s the thing.
Summer’s winding on. Still hot and dry. He chisels and we hope for rain, for before too, too long it will be time to drill the grain again, in hopes of another crop.
And I am caught up in taking pictures and then in editing them. So, I have lots and lots, probably too many, for a blog post. But I like them, so I will post them! 🙂
Our grandchildren shouldn’t ever have to wonder about what Grandpa’s farm looked like.
So there we go. Enough pictures that you can feel like you have been checking and greasing and chiseling too!

I really like the picture of the chisel shanks too. And I, obviously, don’t pay enough attention, because I’m not 100% sure of all the time what the names for everything are. 🙂

I love your pictures, and the ones of your farm are my favorite. I went to college in Iowa, and while I saw a lot of field and tractors on the highway, I never seemed to get to seem the tractors/equipment in the fields! You have such an eye.

I like our farm pics too. I just don’t always get out there to take them!
