I love to watch the wheat field wave in the wind too. So beautiful. I was just thinking this morning that though I'm glad it's harvest and it will be nice to get the wheat in, I will miss the wheat field right outside my window.

Corn fields are pretty too and it is fascinating to watch a combine feed corn into its header. We farm mostly wheat, but we do farm an irrigated circle and raise corn and soybeans.

I'm thankful to live in the country too.

There is just something about harvest. I love harvest pictures too. Alissa emailed me a couple from the field she was in yesterday and they're just beautiful and stately.

The song "The God of Harvest Praise" always echoes through my soul at this time of year. What bounty His earth can produce. I commented to my man the other evening that though this years harvest is not splitting the bins, it is amazing at the production of the grain when we think about what all it has been through. God's miracles are everywhere in His creation. A tiny seed bringing forth abundantly!

Thanks for sharing harvest with us. It's next best to sitting with you on the swing borrowed from your brother watching harvest with you. I never get tired of pics of combines and wheat fields. That last picture is a real winner.

We have wheat fields all around us where we live and I love to watch the farmers walk out, waist deep, to inspect their crop. I love how the wind moves across the golden stalks. Now I will think of those that reap their once a year paycheck (!!) and be ever more appreciative of the beauty.
We also have a corn field behind our house, not ours, but close enough to enjoy. I love living outside of town, surrounded by farms. It is such a joy for us.
Thanks for visiting my page! Hope to connect more -- some of my dearest friends these days are bloggers.
