A book just right for Christmas!
It’s an Advent Devotional and it’s wrapped in a beautiful cover! 🙂
An Advent Devotional: Unwrapping the Names of Jesus by Asheritah Ciuciu
This devotional was written because the author felt a drawing to center her heart on delighting in the Savior versus becoming too caught up in creating a picture-perfect holiday.
The daily readings each center around a different name of Jesus from the Scriptures.
Each day begins with a Scripture, followed by a short reading and is completed with a challenge and a prayer. It also includes Bible references for further reading and digging deeper.
This devotional can be read on your own OR it can be read as a family. There are also optional activities included and downloads available for family use at onethingalone.com/advent.
The book is divided into four weeks and each week centers around a theme of Advent.
They are:
Week 1: Advent Celebration
Week 2: Preparation
Week 3: Joy
Week 4: Love
A few of the names of Jesus for the daily readings are:
The Resurrection and the Life
The Truth
Holy One of God
True Vine
Bread of Life
Man of Sorrows
I enjoy focusing on the names of Jesus and names of God. I did the Bible study, Knowing God By Name, by Mary Kassian a year or two ago and also read Tony Evans, The Power of God’s Names alongside it. I enjoyed them very much. Power in the name of Jesus!
I’m enjoying this little devotional and focusing on Jesus and thinking about His names and what all He has done for us!
